PILES: TREATMENT and CURE
Piles can be cured and treated in a number of methods depending upon the severity of the condition of the patient. The various methods to treat piles are:
TO DO LIST AT HOME-
Adopting a better lifestyle and diet can help improve piles. You must include high-fiber food in your diet which would help to soften the faeces. However, as a pregnant woman, you must consult your doctor before changing your diet.
Avoid straining while passing a stool. Then, gently clean your anus with water or wipes and pat dry.
Drink a lot of water to stay hydrated. Also, avoid caffeine and alcohol as much as possible.
Painkillers can also help you to soothe the pain. However, as a pregnant woman, you must consult your doctor before taking them.
Ointments and creams can help you feel relieved from pain. Make sure you use them only to cure the symptoms and not piles itself. Do not use chemical based creams or ointments for more than 7 days unless advised by your doctor.
Use of Corticosteroids may help you to reduce pain and swelling. However, its continued use for more than a week can lead to damage of the skin around anus.
NON-SURGICAL TREATMENT FOR PILES:
This includes injecting of an oily solution to the piles lumps. The lumps eventually contract and shrink. This treatment is effective for Grade II and Grade III piles.
In this treatment a small elastic band tied over the hemorrhoid because of that the supply of blood do not reach there. Because of no blood supply the lumps get start shrinking and fall off in the end. The skin heals naturally.
ELECTROTHERAPY AND BIPOLAR THERAPY TREATMENT OF PILES:
Electricity waves can destroy hemorrhoids lumps completely. It is used to treat piles as a treatment.
INFRA-RED COAGULATION OR LASER TREATMENT OF PILES:
This treatment includes using of infra-red light to seal the veins above the piles lumps which would eventually cause their shrinkage.
